LifeZette Why Celebrities May Be the GOP’s New Secret Weapon

By  |

American voters are none too thrilled when stars suddenly swarm their state or town, pour money into their elections, preach about how to vote and why– and after that jet off back to Hollywood as their words vaporize into thin air. This is a reality the 2016 presidential election showed in spades– and it was proven once again by the Georgia unique election this week to fill the 6th district congressional seat. Fortunate for Republicans, though– it’s a fact Democrats are still avoiding. Celeb assistance for their causes has become both a crutch and a liability. The assistance for

Democrat Jon Ossoff from Hollywood was significant, to state the least. Rosie O’Donnell, Jane Fonda, Samuel L. Jackson, and oh-so-many others poured their time, cash and effort into Ossoff’s campaign.Actor John Leguizamo

(“John Wick”) acted as if democracy itself was hanging in the balance throughout the campaign. “The end of democracy looks nigh,” the star informed Politico. “I think we all realize we can’t relax, we can’t take things for approved. We cannot relax and hope that someone else does something, we have to do whatever we can, [] we all got ta get woke, and that’s the required. I wish there were more outspoken celebrities, professional athletes, artists, people with high profiles.”

In a radio advertisement that endorsed Ossoff, “Avengers” star Samuel L. Jackson summarized the celeb priority to use the election as a platform to battle President Trump. He stated the goal of electing Ossoff was to “stop Donald Trump, a guy who encourages racial and spiritual discrimination and sexism.”

Comic Sarah Silverman, actress Debra Messing, and “Star Trek” star George Takei likewise got involved– and spoke out versus Republican victor Karen Handel. Many involved of all was “Charmed” actress Alyssa Milano (revealed above right in one of the images here, beside Debra Messing). Milano greatly promoted Ossoff through social media and offered more time than any other celeb by offering to own voters to the surveys.

— Christopher Gorham (@ChrisGorham) March 27, 2017 [6] In the end– it recommended naught. The president perfectly summarized the election when he tweeted that it had actually become “Hollywood vs. Georgia.”

Dems failed in Kansas and are now failing in Georgia. Excellent job Karen Handel! It is now Hollywood vs. Georgia on June 20th.

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 19, 2017 [7] Citizens showed at the surveys on Tuesday night that they did not desire to be controlled or influenced by Hollywood stars unaware of the essential regional problems facing their communities. The fact that Democrats relied so greatly on Hollywood’s”influencers”in the Georgia election shows they learned little or absolutely nothing from Hillary Clinton’s loss last November. Her over-reliance on star support from individuals like Madonna, Jay Z and others was perhaps what helped her lose– and appear very out of touch to many citizens. The exact same happened today. Democrats are dedicating themselves to a losing method, and it’s just assisting Republican politicians.
