Angelina Jolie Snaps Up New Palatial L.A. Family Home For $25 Million
Angelina Jolie is moving on from her split with Brad Pitt in a sprawling new mansion that she snapped up for a cool $25 million.
The star and her clan of six children are looking to make a fresh start in the Cecil B. DeMille Estate — a historic Los Angeles mansion — that boasts six bedrooms and ten bathrooms across a whopping 7,500 square feet of land.
Built in 1913, the home is considered one of the best in L.A., thanks to its large terraces, breathtaking views, winding staircases, lush grounds, arched fountains and large swimming pool.
Surely a welcome addition to the area— and neighbouring property values— Jolie will count Casey Affleck, Natalie Portman, Lauren Graham, Will.I.Am and David Fincher as some of her star-studded neighbours.
Jolie filed for divorce in September from Pitt, whom she’d been with since 2004, due to “irreconcilable differences.” In January, the couple chose to resolve the remainder of their divorce proceedings and custody dispute in private. “The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues,” the former couple announced in a statement. “The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification.”
After a tense few months of divorce proceedings, the stars are now talking directly to each other. “He’s much happier,” a source said. “He’s very relieved that things are not playing out in public anymore.”
